Research fear over Christie money – BBC Health News 13th October 2008
A cancer treatment centre, which invested £7.5m in an Icelandic bank, has said research could be jeopardised if it does not get its money back.
The Christie NHS Foundation Trust in Withington, Manchester, invested the money with Kaupthing Singer and Friedlander (KSF) in May and July 2008.

Cash crisis won’t stop Christie plans – Manchester Evening News 13th October 2008
CHRISTIE hospital bosses WILL go ahead with plans for two new radiotherapy units even if they cannot recover £7.5m lost in a failed Icelandic bank, the M.E.N. can reveal.
Chief executive Caroline Shaw said she was doing everything possible to get back the money back and they have been advised their chances of recovering the cash are ‘excellent’.
