Plans to merge Baycall put on hold – Carlisle News & Star 19th November 2008

PLANS to merge South Cumbria’s out-of-hours GP service with its counterpart for the rest of the county have been put on hold.

A deal was set to be signed today which would have seen Baycall join CueDoc to form a single company.

But NHS Cumbria, the county’s primary care trust, has agreed to consult the public and put the contract out to tender after concerns were raised.

Health trust takes Darwen office – Lancashire Telegraph 19th November 2008HEALTH workers are set to move into office space in Darwen’s new Arkwright Court development.

NHS Blackburn with Darwen, the primary care trust administering non-hospital care in the borough, has taken on a two-year lease of Unit Four at the office development, off Junction 4 of the M65.

Bell stolen from Burnley hospital by scrap metal thieves – Lancashire Telegraph 19th November 2008A HUGE bell was stolen by suspected scrap metal thieves from an historic hospital tower.

Bosses at Burnley General Hospital fear the eight-stone object, which dates back to 1820, may have been sold on to scrap dealers for quick cash.
