THE mum accused of killing her baby and two-year-old son had been treated for mental health problems – but was discharged because she failed to keep appointments.

The M.E.N. can reveal doctors at Manchester Mental Health and Social Care trust diagnosed Jael Mullings with ‘low mood’ depression but it is understood she did not respond well to treatment and staff referred her to her GP.

FORGET lollipops and flipflops, the latest weapon in the war on binge drinking has been unveiled – BUBBLES!

A thousand colourful bubble blowers are to be handed out to revellers in Bolton centre.

The aim is to encourage drinkers leaving pubs and clubs to focus on playfully blowing bubbles on their way home, instead of getting into scuffles.

ARCHIVES from Prestwich Asylum have been used to create a unique history lesson for high school pupils.

The asylum opened in 1851 and eventually became Prestwich Hospital, before closing in 1994.
