WEST Lancashire MP Rosie Cooper has held talks with the Government’s top adviser on dental care in England over dental services in Ormskirk.
Barry Cockcroft, Chief Dental Officer at the Department of Health, met with Rosie while on a visit to West Lancashire.

AMBULANCE bosses have declared a state of “red alert” for the first time, blaming overcrowded wards and frivolous 999 calls.
In a bid to get more paramedics on the road, non-essential training sessions and meetings have been cancelled.
All clinically-trained staff, even if they have progressed to senior management, could find themselves back out on the front line.

A FORMER industrial heartland near the M65 could be home to nearly 2,000 new jobs if talks between developers and a health trust are successful, it has emerged.
Plans for the sprawling Burnley Bridge Business Park, promising 1,646 industrial, warehousing and office posts at the former Hepworth’s site at Hapton, were revealed by the Lancashire Telegraph in September.
And the old building products plant has also been earmarked as the site for East Lancashire’s new mental health hospital.

A recession-hit charity is calling on the public not to forget the needs of disabled and terminally ill children as the credit crunch hits people’s pockets and the ability to give.
The Newlife Foundation for Disabled Children has long helped hundreds of children and families across Yorkshire, but plans to hold a celebration to start a dedicated appeal for the county has been hit by the recession.
