Fade Skinny: Editorial on H1N1 that identifies that ‘Containment is not a feasible operation. Countries should now focus on mitigating the effect of the virus’.  This mitigation will require global implementation of pandemic preparedness plans which hinge around measures to limit spread of infection, rapid and efficient identification of infected cases and specific treatment of and prophylaxis against infection, along with, in due course, widespread vaccination to protect those who are as yet uninfected.
